The County Department of Gender and Social Protection, on Thursday, convened a consultative forum with Public Benefit Organizations (PBOs) aimed at strengthening collaboration in advancing community development initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The forum, held under the Homecraft Pioneer platform, brought together members of the Uasin Gishu Civil Society Network and representatives of non-governmental organizations operating across the county. Uasin Gishu Deputy County Commissioner Edonga Nanok presided over the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his address, Mr Nanok lauded civil society organizations for their sustained contribution to grassroots development and leadership advancement, noting that their partnership with government institutions has played a pivotal role in empowering local communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chief Officer for Gender and Social Protection Marion Birgen conveyed greetings from the Governor and commended PBOs for championing social transformation through innovative programming, targeted interventions and the promotion of accountability.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

She acknowledged persistent challenges, including funding limitations and capacity gaps, and called for enhanced collaboration to address emerging community needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chief Guest, Regina Chumba, a Nominated Member of the County Assembly representing Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), underscored the critical role non-governmental organizations have played in strengthening governance, drawing reference to the Constitution of Kenya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She reaffirmed the county\u2019s commitment to advancing gender equality and bolstering social protection frameworks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gladys Jepkoech, representing the Rift Valley Technical Training Institute (RVTTI), advocated for greater gender inclusivity in technical training and invited the county government to explore partnerships in future capacity-building initiatives.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
