The County Government has intensified efforts to strengthen accountability, efficiency and service delivery across its departments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking during a performance contract briefing at the County Chambers, Chief of Staff Dr. Pius Chumba underscored the need for dedication, humility and integrity in public service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe expect every officer to serve with humility and work diligently,\u201d Dr. Chumba said, noting that the success of county programmes hinges on officers executing their mandates with honesty and commitment.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Staff from the Governor\u2019s Office, the County Secretary\u2019s Office and the Department of Education were briefed on performance contracting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Chumba also reaffirmed that the Nguzo Kumi development blueprint remains the guiding framework for county operations, providing a roadmap for sustainable growth and improved service delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSet clear targets, track progress and provide feedback. Manage resources prudently to support capital development,\u201d he said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The CoS added that high-performing officers would be recognised and rewarded for exemplary service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cExcellence will be recognised, and rewards will come to those who deliver,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Director of Performance Management Mr. Josephat Rotich reiterated the administration\u2019s resolve to institutionalise performance metrics across all departments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are keen to ensure every team aligns with the Nguzo Kumi principles. Accountability, efficiency and results are at the heart of what we do,\u201d he said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Performance contracting, an exercise seeking to sustain measurable performance efficiency in service delivery, is also a pillar in Governor Dr Jonathan Bii’s manifesto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Rotich explained that the appraisal system is designed to promote excellence and incentivise officers who exceed expectations. \u201cOur goal is to cultivate a culture where every officer understands what is required and strives to achieve it,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Assistant Director of Performance Management Wilfred Nyabando emphasised the role of continuous monitoring and teamwork in meeting departmental targets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said the performance management framework is intended not only to evaluate officers but also to support them in enhancing service delivery and ensuring county programmes deliver measurable benefits to residents.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
