The County Department of Gender and Social Protection has partnered with Eldohub to host a community engagement forum in Jua Kali, Turbo Sub-County, an event aimed at strengthening grassroots empowerment initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The forum brought together local residents, ward administrators and social protection officers to deliberate on alternative justice systems, entrepreneurship and digital inclusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The engagement sought to mobilize communities around sustainable business practices and technology-driven solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was presided over by Chief Officer for Gender and Social Protection Marion Birgen and Director of Social Protection Regina Keen, alongside other county officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing participants, CO Birgen lauded Eldohub for amplifying community voices through its programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy department is mandated to advocate for rights, protection, prevention, promotion and transformation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The establishment of Eldohub through the Business Mashinani programme is empowering people at the grassroots, and that is a mission we fully support,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Birgen noted that the department focuses on supporting special interest groups, including widows, caregivers, older persons and vulnerable youth, particularly those affected by substance abuse.
\u201cMy office is ready to work closely with Eldohub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This partnership is critical, especially as Eldohub continues to reach rural communities and harness existing local skills,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also commended county staff for their commitment, reaffirming the county government\u2019s resolve to advance inclusive development through strategic collaborations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faith Kibet, Executive Director of Child and Elder Care Foundation and a partner in the Alternative Justice System programme, underscored the importance of the partnership, describing Eldohub as a key driver of dialogue and economic opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGender is not solely a woman\u2019s issue; it cuts across society. It is encouraging to see Uasin Gishu residents embracing entrepreneurship beyond traditional farming,\u201d she said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Ms Kibet urged entrepreneurs to adopt value addition and integrate technology into their enterprises to enhance competitiveness and long-term sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
