Uasin Gishu Governor Dr Jonathan Bii on Thursday led an inspection exercise of roads currently being graded and gravelled in Soy Ward, as the county intensifies implementation of a recently launched road infrastructure upgrade program. The initiative aims to rehabilitate more than 700 kilometres of roads damaged during the previous heavy rain season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While inspecting works along the Navasha, Chamnyet Ngelo, and Posta\u2013SDA Church roads, Governor Bii noted that the ongoing improvements in Soy Ward form part of a comprehensive plan to transform road networks across all 30 wards in the county.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI want to assure our people that this work will be carried out in all the 30 wards, and every location will feel the impact. With the current pace, I am optimistic that we will surpass our target,\u201d he said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The Governor also interacted with local residents, who expressed satisfaction with the progress of the works, noting that the project will significantly improve connectivity and infrastructure across Uasin Gishu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He urged residents to continue cooperating with county inspectors and engineers, as well as the National Youth Service (NYS) team, which the county has partnered with to implement the program. Focus on better roads is the sixth pillar of Dr Bii’s Nguzo Kumi governance plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr Bii was accompanied by County Executive Committee Member for Roads, Mr Abraham Serem, Chief Officer Mr Geoffrey Tanui, and other county officials.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
