The County Government of Uasin Gishu on Tuesday rolled out a major pre-race medical camp at Chepkemel Primary School, ahead of the Chepsaita Cross Country slated for December 6th. The outreach, designed to boost community health and support athletes, drew a steady stream of residents eager to receive free medical services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking during the event, Uasin Gishu Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii reaffirmed that health remains a central pillar of his administration\u2019s development agenda. He emphasized that taking services closer to the people is key to improving health outcomes and eliminating barriers to care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur aim is to ensure that quality healthcare reaches every corner of this county. Preventive and promotive health is the backbone of a healthy community,\u201d said Governor Dr. Bii. He encouraged residents to turn out in large numbers, noting that investing in community health is just as important as nurturing the sporting talent that defines the Chepsaita race.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Promotive and Preventive Health Chief Officer Dr. Paul Wangwe echoed the governor\u2019s remarks, underscoring the county\u2019s strong support for the initiative. He disclosed that 91 healthcare providers and 25 community health promoters had been deployed to the camp to offer services ranging from screenings and vital checks to specialist referrals. The county also equipped the camp with triage tools and ambulances to enhance efficiency and emergency preparedness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur focus is to ensure everyone is served efficiently and professionally. The turnout already shows how valuable these outreach activities are,\u201d Dr. Wangwe noted.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
