The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), represented by Mr. Kentaro Hotta and Mr. Ryota Okiguchi, is conducting assessments to better understand the volume and composition of waste generated in major towns. Their efforts have intensified in Uasin Gishu County, where the team has been stationed since last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ongoing survey focuses on solid waste categorization across high-, middle-, and low-income areas, including Eldoret City.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The team\u2019s current visit to Uasin Gishu aims to advance the implementation of the Waste and Composition Survey (WACS), a critical initiative that will generate data to inform long-term, sustainable solid waste management strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During today\u2019s exercise, the Chief Officer for Environment, Mr. Mark Some, who led the Uasin Gishu team, commended the initiative, stating: \u201cWe are on the verge of creating a greener and cleaner county and city for all. We will give maximum cooperation and deploy enough officers to fast-track and actualize the completion of this survey.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
