The week-long training for newly appointed staff in Uasin Gishu County has officially come to a close, with leaders urging the officers to uphold professionalism, integrity and a strong commitment to public service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deputy Governor H.E. Evans Kapkea, while addressing the staff, reminded them that they represent the face of the county everywhere they go.
\u201cYou are the flag-bearers of Uasin Gishu. You have been serving our residents well continue doing so with energy and dedication,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kapkea emphasised the need for time consciousness, discipline, and adherence to service standards, noting that Governor H.E. Jonathan Bii remains committed to staff welfare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur Governor has ensured promotions for over 1,500 staff. This administration believes in serving without discrimination,\u201d he added.
He urged the officers to work together within the rule of law, follow the HR manual, and remain focused on building their careers and professions.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

County Secretary Philip Meli underscored the importance of understanding key government documents that guide public administration.
He called on staff to \u201crestructure their minds,\u201d noting that public service is anchored in the County Governments Act, which demands high standards of ethics and conduct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meli reminded the officers that etiquette and the code of conduct provide ethical principles that guide public servants in their duties.
\u201cProfessionalism, courtesy and transparency enhance service delivery. Etiquette fosters respectful interactions, builds public trust and strengthens the credibility of public institutions,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He encouraged staff to conduct themselves with decorum in all public forums, maintain confidentiality, and treat every citizen with fairness and respect \u201cas VIPs.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

City Manager Elseba Busienei highlighted the need for continuous capacity building and skills enhancement, noting that it is key to achieving the City\u2019s transformation agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Director for Training and Performance Management Josephat Rotich guided them through performance contracting,eligibility for training,staff performance appraisal system among others and commended the officers for their commitment during the training and encouraged them to apply the skills learnt to improve service delivery across all departments.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
