The County Government of Uasin Gishu on Friday hosted a delegation from the Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency (KEPROBA) to present and review the draft County Profile\u2014marking a significant milestone in the county\u2019s efforts to enhance data-driven development and strengthen investment readiness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The session provided a platform for county officials and sector representatives to jointly validate the draft document, which outlines Uasin Gishu\u2019s demographic trends, economic indicators, infrastructure status, business environment, and emerging opportunities across key sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The development of the profile is being undertaken through a consultative process spearheaded by the Department of Trade, Industrialization, Tourism, Cooperatives, and Enterprise Development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking during the meeting, County Executive Committee Member for Trade and Cooperatives, Martha Cheruto, emphasized the importance of the document in shaping the county\u2019s development path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis draft profile is more than a document; it is a mirror of who we are as a county and a compass for where we are going. It gives investors, partners, and government agencies the factual information needed to make informed decisions. By validating it together, we ensure the final profile reflects our true potential and positions Uasin Gishu as a hub for trade, innovation, and enterprise,\u201d she said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Chief Officer for Trade Felix Kimaru echoed the CECM\u2019s remarks, underscoring the need for accuracy and collective input in finalizing the document.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA credible county profile strengthens our planning, budgeting, and development priorities. It helps us speak from a point of evidence\u2014whether we are negotiating investment opportunities, supporting MSMEs, or designing market infrastructure,\u201d he said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Kimaru further noted that a validated county profile will be a key reference for national agencies, development partners, and private-sector players seeking reliable county-level data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The validation meeting brought together technical experts from various county directorates, whose insights will be incorporated into the final edition of the county profile ahead of its official release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
