Uasin Gishu County First Lady, Mama Salina Bii, has emerged as a strong voice in the fight against cancer, urging residents to prioritize regular screening as a key step in saving lives through early detection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking during a breast and cervical cancer medical camp at Meibeki Health Facility in Karuna\/Meibeki Ward, Mama Salina emphasized that frequent screening remains the most effective way to combat the growing burden of cancer, calling on both men and women to take charge of their health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCancer is treatable when detected early. I encourage everyone to go for regular screening \u2014 do not wait for symptoms. Early detection can make the difference between life and loss,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The First Lady noted that despite increasing awareness, many people still seek medical attention when the disease has already reached advanced stages \u2014 a challenge she said can be addressed through continuous community education and accessible screening services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She reaffirmed her commitment to championing cancer awareness through her office, focusing on empowering communities with knowledge and promoting preventive health practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe must break the silence, end the stigma, and make cancer screening a routine part of our lives. Together, we can build a healthier and more informed society,\u201d Mama Salina added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her remarks come as Uasin Gishu County continues to strengthen partnerships under the Equity in Cancer Care Project with Sweden\u2019s Region \u00d6sterg\u00f6tland, aimed at improving cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment services across the county.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
