Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim led a strong humanitarian appeal as faith-based, corporate, and civic partners joined hands to support families affected by the recent landslides in Elgeyo Marakwet County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Tuesday, he received donations from the Hindu Council of Kenya, Eldoret Chapter, alongside contributions from the Kerio Valley Development Authority (KVDA), the Lions Club of Eldoret, and Wareng Powerhouse. The relief consignment includes foodstuffs and other essential supplies destined for displaced families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking during the handover at the County Headquarters and at the Eldoret airstrip, Governor Bii hailed the collective effort as a true demonstration of compassion and unity in action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is the true spirit of generosity and togetherness that defines us as the City of Champions,\u201d he said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

He added: \u201cOur machinery is already on the ground opening roads and restoring access to affected areas. At the same time, our medical teams are offering support and attending to those in need. We are doing everything possible to ensure timely relief reaches every affected family.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Representing the Hindu Council of Kenya, Ngirish Khetia reaffirmed the group\u2019s commitment to standing with the county during difficult times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We have always stood with the county and its people, and we will continue to do more to support those affected,\u201d he said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Aj Shah, also from Lions Club expressed solidarity with the victims, saying:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dan Melly, representing Wareng Powerhouse, pledged continued partnership with the county in the relief effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe will stand with the county in this effort. On Thursday, we will be handing over more foodstuffs to support families affected by the tragedy,\u201d he announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governor Bii commended the outpouring of goodwill from across the community, saying the support reflects the heart of Uasin Gishu, a county defined by compassion, partnership, and resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He reaffirmed his administration\u2019s commitment to coordinating relief efforts and working closely with humanitarian partners to ensure that affected families receive both immediate assistance and long-term recovery support.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
