{"id":14416,"date":"2025-10-27T17:28:00","date_gmt":"2025-10-27T14:28:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uasingishu.go.ke\/?p=14416"},"modified":"2025-10-28T10:34:47","modified_gmt":"2025-10-28T07:34:47","slug":"county-partners-with-stakeholders-to-empower-farmers-on-aivs-commercialization","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uasingishu.go.ke\/index.php\/county-partners-with-stakeholders-to-empower-farmers-on-aivs-commercialization","title":{"rendered":"COUNTY PARTNERS WITH STAKEHOLDERS TO EMPOWER FARMERS ON AIVs COMMERCIALIZATION"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The County Government of Uasin Gishu, through the Department of Agriculture and Agribusiness, on Monday hosted the launch of the African Indigenous Vegetables (AIVs) Commercialization \u2014 a Vision 2030 Flagship Project \u2014 at the Eldoret National Polytechnic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Implemented in collaboration with the National Government, the National Museums of Kenya (NMK), and the Natural Products Industry Initiative for Kenya (NIP), the project aims to transform African Indigenous Vegetables from modest subsistence crops into scientifically guided commercial ventures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The goal is to elevate these vegetables\u2014already celebrated for their high nutritional value\u2014into profitable enterprises that enhance food security, boost farmer incomes, and contribute to Kenya\u2019s Vision 2030 agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking during the launch, the CECM for Agriculture, Dr. Sam Kotut, accompanied by Chief Officer Eng.
