Uasin Gishu Governor H.E. Dr. Jonathan Bii Chelilim, together with Deputy Governor H.E. Evans Kapkea, on Friday hosted Dr. Meredith Kavalier, an Assistant Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases and International Medicine at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Kavalier paid a courtesy call to explore possible areas of collaboration in the health sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Kavalier, who also serves as an Executive Associate with AMPATH, expressed interest in partnering with the County Government of Uasin Gishu to strengthen emergency medical services and enhance nursing and doctor training programs.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Governor Dr. Bii noted that the county continues to pursue strategic partnerships aimed at improving healthcare delivery, enhancing emergency response systems, and building the capacity of health professionals. He welcomed the proposed collaboration as a valuable step toward advancing service delivery and fostering knowledge exchange between Uasin Gishu and international institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Governor further lauded the initiative, emphasizing that such partnerships align with his administration\u2019s agenda to enhance access to quality healthcare for all residents of Uasin Gishu County.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Deputy Governor Kapkea reaffirmed the County Government\u2019s commitment to leveraging global partnerships for improved healthcare outcomes, underscoring the importance of continuous training and collaboration between local and international experts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The engagement also builds on the Minneapolis\u2013Uasin Gishu sister city relationship, which promotes cooperation in health, education, and development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
