The County Government of Uasin Gishu has launched a groundbreaking initiative aimed at identifying, registering, and creating a central database for vulnerable persons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

At the heart of this initiative is the development of software dubbed \u201cTabasamu na Koti.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

According to Social Protection Chief Officer Marion Birgen, the software, once developed, will establish a centralized database and monitoring system to identify and register vulnerable individuals eligible for social protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe program is designed to collect data on specific vulnerable groups, including orphans, poor older members of society, persons with disabilities, individuals living in extreme poverty, and those affected by economic or social shocks,\u201d Birgen explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She spoke during a meeting to kick off the software development process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The software will gather and store key information, including an individual\u2019s residence and specific needs assessment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

\u201cA critical feature will be the integration of medical assistance details into the system,\u201d the Chief Officer added.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The program will be rolled out in consultation with the Social Health Authority (SHA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
