Residents of Block 6 (Nairobi Area) in Langas Ward, led by their Member of County Assembly, Hon. Francis Muya, turned up in large numbers at Calvary Church to share their views and express support for upcoming road projects spearheaded by H.E Dr. Jonathan Bii Chelilim’s administration through the Department of Roads, Transport, and Public Works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This meeting comes barely a week after an assessment tour of the area\u2019s roads by County Executive for Roads, Abraham Serem, accompanied by Chief Officer Geoffrey Tanui.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative demonstrates Governor Dr. Bii\u2019s commitment to fulfilling his promises under Pillar Six of the Nguzo Kumi manifesto, which focuses on enhancing infrastructure to improve connectivity, access to services, and economic development.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

During the sensitisation forum, residents expressed their readiness to embrace the new road projects, including those to be implemented under the Roads Maintenance Levy Fund (RMLF). Their discussions centered on planning, design, and the implementation process to ensure the projects are successful and meet their infrastructure and connectivity needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hon. Muya and the residents stressed the importance of quality work, urging the use of durable materials that would ensure long-lasting roads across the ward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

\u201cI urge those who have encroached on land reserved for roads to relocate to their designated spaces as shown in the original maps, to allow smooth project implementation,\u201d Hon. Muya told the residents.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

According to Urban Engineer David Rop, who represented CECM Serem, the scope of works will include expansion of existing roads, opening of new ones, bush clearing, drainage improvements, installation of new culverts, spot patching, among other interventions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
