Uasin Gishu Governor H.E. Dr. Jonathan Bii Chelilim has reaffirmed that agriculture remains the lifeline of the county, describing it as the true heartbeat of development and the first pillar of his administration. He emphasized that every initiative being implemented is designed to uplift farmers, improve household incomes, expand markets, and ultimately secure a brighter future for the people of Uasin Gishu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking during the 18th Agribusiness Trade Fair at the University of Eldoret, the Governor highlighted the county\u2019s bold strides in transforming the sector through projects that empower farmers, enhance exports, and open new avenues for industrial growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He outlined flagship projects currently underway, including the potato processing plant in Ainabkoi, the county aggregation centre in Moiben, the chicken abattoir at the Eldoret Main Slaughterhouse, the animal feeds plant in Mugundoi, the coffee mill in Cheramei, and the planned milk processing plant in Kapseret. According to the Governor, these initiatives\u2014now at advanced stages\u2014send a clear message that \u201cthe future is agriculture.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The trade fair, which has evolved into a premier platform for showcasing agribusiness innovation, resilience, and farmer potential, brought together key stakeholders from across the agricultural value chain. Governor Dr. Bii commended farmers and innovators for their creativity and determination, noting that such efforts position Uasin Gishu as a leading hub of agri-industrial development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Former West Pokot Governor Prof. John Krop Lonyang\u2019apuo praised Uasin Gishu\u2019s vision, observing that investments in agriculture-driven industrialization serve as a catalyst for both regional and national growth.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
