Over 49,000 coffee seedlings have now been distributed to farmers in Megun and Ngeria Wards, Kapseret Sub-County marking a major milestone in Uasin Gishu\u2019s bold push to revive coffee farming and diversify agricultural income for rural households.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The latest distribution of 32,000 seedlings to farmers in Megun and Ngeria Wards is part of an ongoing county-led initiative to transform coffee into a leading cash crop in the region. This follows the earlier distribution of 17,300 seedlings during the program\u2019s launch by Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii at the Kapseret Sub-County Offices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exercise, conducted at Outspan, was led by Kapseret Sub-County Agricultural Officer Joyce Serem, who noted that the County\u2019s coffee revitalization program goes beyond seedling distribution. \u201cWe are deploying our officers to offer continuous farmer training, monitor planting and survival rates, and provide technical support to ensure the long-term success of this initiative,\u201d she said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Serem further emphasized that the list of beneficiaries was thoroughly vetted to ensure support reaches genuine and committed coffee farmers. The exercise was supported by Kapseret Ward Agricultural Officers Naomy Bor, Jackline Jebet, and Agnes Jelimo, who oversaw coordination and mobilization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This initiative forms part of the County Government\u2019s broader agricultural transformation agenda, aimed at empowering farmers, increasing rural incomes, and positioning Uasin Gishu as a leading coffee producing region in the North Rift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
