\u200eIn a bold push to tackle climate change and boost rural incomes, the County Government of Uasin Gishu on Monday distributed coffee seedlings to farmers in Tapsagoi Ward, Turbo Sub-County.

\u200eThe initiative, under the Financing Locally-Led Climate Action (FLLoCA) program, aims to introduce climate-resilient, high-value crops that support environmental conservation and economic empowerment.

\u200eThe distribution was led by County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Water, Environment and Natural Resources, Mr. Anthony Sitienei, accompanied by Chief Officer Mr. Mark Some, Director of Environment Mr. Kipchumba Barno, FLLoCA Coordinator Ms. Abigael Kibet, and other senior county officials.

\u200eMr. Sitienei described the exercise as part of a broader strategy to secure livelihoods while restoring the environment, noting coffee’s potential to drive long-term transformation in rural communities.<\/strong>
