The County Government of Uasin Gishu has reaffirmed its commitment to improving road infrastructure in Rehema area, Cheptiret-Kipchamo Ward, Kesses Sub-County, through an ongoing development program being undertaken by the Department of Roads, Transport and Public Works.

\u200eThe initiative aims to address long-standing challenges caused by the area’s terrain, which results in significant waterlogging during the rainy season. Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii’s administration has rolled out targeted interventions to offer lasting solutions to the persistent drainage and road damage issues in the region.

\u200eAmong the completed works is the gravelling of Lane 9, a crucial road that serves Rehema DEB Primary School, Rehema Secondary School, and nearby social amenities.

\u200eUasin Gishu County Executive for Roads, Eng. Joseph Lagat, noted that the project will continue inorder to cover the remaining lanes from 1 through 9.

\u200e\u201cAs a county, we are committed to completing all ongoing works. Proper drainage will be a priority to ensure efficient water flow downstream and prevent future road damage,\u201d said Eng. Lagat.<\/strong>

\u200eResidents, led by Dancan Silungai, Mary Mbone, Ivyne Samoei, Marasi Kibet, and Peter Kuria, welcomed the project, terming it a major step forward for the community. They noted that the intervention would greatly ease flooding on roads and farms, which has hindered movement and agricultural activities for years.

\u200eThe ongoing roadworks are part of the county\u2019s broader agenda to boost rural connectivity and enhance accessibility to essential services across all wards.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
