The County Government of Uasin Gishu on Tuesday convened a public participation forum, bringing together key stakeholders from across the North Rift region to engage in critical discussions on the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) policy and proposed amendments to the MSME Act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Held in Eldoret, the forum drew participants from both public and private sectors, all united under a common goal \u2014 to streamline support mechanisms for MSMEs and enhance their role in economic development and job creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at the event, Uasin Gishu County Trade Chief Officer, Mr. Felix Kimaru, stressed the significance of collaboration between the National Government, County administrations, and private sector players.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He urged MSMES to formalize their operations and register with the County to tap into tailored programs aimed at empowering and growing their businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFormalization is the first step to empowerment. When MSMEs register, they gain access to county initiatives designed to uplift and grow them,\u201d said Mr. Kimaru.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The Chief Officer also encouraged stakeholders to attend the Eldoret International Business Summit, scheduled to take place on April 24, 2025, describing it as a vital platform for learning, networking, and exploring best practices with local and global industry leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Summit is a golden opportunity for MSMEs to connect with industry leaders, explore new markets, and gain insight into innovative practices,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This forum is part of the county’s broader agenda under the leadership of Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii, who has prioritized economic transformation through entrepreneurship. The initiative aligns with the Governor\u2019s Nguzo Number Four, which emphasizes robust support for small and medium-sized enterprises as a cornerstone of sustainable economic growth.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
