In a bold step toward strengthening healthcare delivery, the County Government of Uasin Gishu has launched an intensive training program targeting facility in-charges from level two health facilities to bolster financial management and accountability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative, a cornerstone of the county\u2019s healthcare reform agenda, aims to equip health facility heads with vital skills in planning, budgeting, procurement, and revenue management. The training also aligns facility operations with recent legislative developments, including the Facilities Improvement Financing Act 2023 and the Social Health Insurance Act 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Let’s ensure every shilling spent at our health facilities is accounted for and directly benefits the people because good financial practices are the backbone of quality healthcare delivery,” said CPA Irene Kalya who was flanked by Director of Supply Chain Management Sarah Siambi.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Participants are being guided through key areas such as cash and bank management, internal audit and control mechanisms, inventory and store procedures, and risk management. The program also includes practical modules on the new social health insurance rollout, preparing facility in-charges to navigate the upcoming changes seamlessly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This move is expected to significantly reduce financial bottlenecks, enhance transparency, and ultimately improve service delivery across the county\u2019s primary healthcare facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this proactive approach, Uasin Gishu is setting a new standard in county-level health governance where efficiency, transparency, and improved patient outcomes go hand in hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
