Uasin Gishu County Government is ramping up efforts to improve water access in Kesses Sub-County, with Chief Officer for Water, Irrigation, and Sanitation, Elijah Koech, spearheading key infrastructure projects aimed at ensuring a reliable supply for residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Koech, who led an inspection of the projects, emphasized the county\u2019s commitment to long-term water solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are prioritizing sustainable infrastructure to guarantee that communities have consistent access to clean water. These projects are a major step in addressing persistent water shortages,\u201d he said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Among the key initiatives is the Chebii Water Project in Chepterit Kipchamo Ward, which includes the equipping of a borehole, installation of a 10m\u00b3 elevated tank, construction of a 10-meter-high steel tower, and establishment of water kiosks to improve accessibility. A new distribution network is also being set up to expand coverage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Tarakwa Ward, the Nabkoi Water Project is advancing across Nabkoi, Chebcheb, Kiting\u2019ei, Chereber, and Cheboror, featuring a 15-kilometre distribution line, a 50m\u00b3 masonry tank, and five water kiosks.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The county is also metering new consumers and repairing the Nabkoi-Chereber burnt forest pipeline, a crucial supply line that had been damaged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tarakwa Ward Administrator James Bett praised the county\u2019s investment, stating that the projects will significantly improve residents\u2019 access to clean water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

County Engineer Ndasaba Simiyu assured the public that technical teams are working efficiently to ensure the projects\u2019 timely completion and long-term sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With many rural communities still struggling with water shortages, these initiatives mark a significant milestone in Uasin Gishu\u2019s broader plan to enhance service delivery.
