Farmers Cooperative Societies across Uasin Gishu County have been urged to bulk their milk at the societies to facilitate and sustain the upcoming Maziwa ni school fees program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program is set to be officially launched in less than two weeks at Tuiyo Secondary School in Kapseret Sub-county.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking on Friday during Megun Gaa FCS field day, County Executive for Trade and Cooperatives Martha Cheruto said the county administration is working with various partners in the dairy value chain to see the dairy farmers increase milk production and ensure economic viability for farmers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

“We will continue training you on various aspects to realize maximize production of high-quality milk,” said Cheruto in an event that also saw Megun Gaa First General Meeting(FGM) and the opening of Megun Gaa FCS agrovet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cheruto further called on them to work towards strengthening the newly revived North Rift Dairy Farmers Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The Union will transform our sector enabling us to have strong bargaining powers on matters of our commodity” she added.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The New KCC Factory Manager Silvia Koech, affirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that the dairy sector remains profitable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The farmers who are also members of Uasin Gishu Coffee Union recently harvested over 250 bags of coffee signifying their dedication to benefitting from broader agriculture value chains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, the CECM graced the First General Meeting of Maloosobon Sacco in Outspan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
