The County Government of Uasin Gishu together with the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) on Monday convened a meeting to discuss fertilizer distribution to farmers as the planting season approaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Agriculture Agribusiness Livestock and Fisheries Dr Sam Kottut, led a meeting alongside the Regional Manager for North Rift Mr. Gilbert Rotich<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting aimed to plan for the handover of the Last Mile fertilizer store from NCPB to the County, set to take place on Thursday and Friday. This transfer will help to ensure local farmers have timely access to necessary agricultural inputs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Kottut reassured farmers regarding the availability of fertilizer and highlighted the significance of early preparations for a successful planting season. He cautioned against the drawback of last-minute procurement, describing such a rush as a potential danger to agricultural productivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We want to ensure that farmers are well-prepared and have everything they need well ahead of the planting season,” he stated.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Accompanying Dr. Kottut at the meeting, Chief Officer Elphas Kesio, Director of Agriculture Kenneth Kili and Deputy Director Ismael Asowa highlighted the county’s commitment to supporting agricultural initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kesio encouraged farmers to take advantage of the resources available through the NCPB’s last-mile distribution efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
