The County Government of Uasin Gishu has entered into discussions with the Office of the Women Rights Advisor (WRA) to design and implement sustainable economic empowerment programs tailored to widows across the county.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This initiative responds after Uasin Gishu Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii had numerous requests from widows in the county, who expressed a need for support to enhance their economic stability and overall well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the coming weeks, a comprehensive empowerment program will be rolled out to address these pressing needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During a meeting attended by\u00a0County Executive Committee Members Elijah Kosgei (Education) and Martha Cheruto (Trade), it was emphasized that many widows feel marginalized, necessitating the need for targeted interventions and greater societal recognition.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

“Our goal as a county is not only to transform the lives of widows but also to build stronger, more resilient communities by enabling them to actively participate in and contribute to economic activities,” stated CEC Martha Cheruto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Representatives from the Office of the WRA led by Director Economic Empowerment and Investments Claire Ashiali reiterated their dedication to creating a future where widows are not only supported but also celebrated for their resilience and invaluable contributions to society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
