The County Government of Uasin Gishu has launched a collaborative campaign to tackle the growing issue of electronic waste (e-waste). The campaign, held at the county headquarters, aimed to educate the public on responsible e-waste disposal and management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Facilitated by experts from the ICT Authority’s Purity Gitau and Patrick Kwanya, the event highlighted the environmental and health risks of improper e-waste disposal. E-waste contains harmful chemicals and heavy metals that, if not disposed of properly, can contaminate the soil and water, posing serious threats to public health.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The county is committed to addressing these risks through proper disposal and recycling practices. Uasin Gishu is working closely with industry stakeholders, government bodies, and the public to establish structured e-waste management solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of its broader sustainability strategy, the County Government is committed to environmental conservation and improving the quality of life for its residents. This effort aligns with the Nguzo 7 blueprint, focusing on collective action and responsible resource management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
