Uasin Gishu County Assembly Committee on Housing and Urban Development, led by Chairperson Hon. Amos Kiptanui, conducted an inspection tour of the Kenya Informal Settlements Improvement Project (KISIP 2) in Kapsaos, Huruma, and Kiplombe Wards on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the visit, the team engaged with residents to assess the project’s impact and address their concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expressing appreciation for the progress, a Kapsaos resident, Ajikon, remarked, \u201cWe are delighted to see tarmac roads reaching our homes. We sincerely thank our able Governor, Jonathan Chelilim, for these transformative projects.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

However, Hon. Kiptanui raised concerns with the contractor regarding drainage systems and prolonged water disconnections affecting the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cResidents have endured water shortages for the past two months due to ongoing construction. I urge you to collaborate with Eldowas to ensure water supply is restored without further delays,\u201d he emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

In response, Chief Officer for Urban Development, Julius Koech, directed the Eldowas Technical Manager to expedite water restoration. \u201cWe are in continuous discussions with Eldowas to fast-track service resumption. Besides affecting residents, these disruptions also lead to revenue losses for the county,\u201d he stated.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The KISIP 2 projects in the three wards encompass tarmacked roads, non-motorized transport networks, high-mast lighting, drainage systems, and beautification initiatives, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
