Uasin Gishu County Government, in partnership with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board, kicked off a three-day pharmacovigilance training course for healthcare providers on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training aims to equip healthcare workers with skills to monitor and report adverse reactions to health products and technologies (HPTs), enhancing patient safety across the county.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Evans Kiprotich, Uasin Gishu\u2019s Director of Health Services, emphasized the county\u2019s dedication to improving healthcare through such initiatives.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis training is a significant step towards ensuring patient safety. By equipping our healthcare providers with these critical skills, we are safeguarding the health of our residents and strengthening our healthcare systems,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program targets healthcare workers from all cadres, ensuring a holistic approach to safety monitoring. Participants are expected to apply the skills learned in their daily work and train their colleagues in their respective facilities, amplifying the initiative’s impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pharmacy and Poisons Board, Kenya\u2019s National Medicines Regulatory Authority, organized the training to regulate health products and technologies and ensure patient safety through pharmacovigilance.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis collaboration reflects Uasin Gishu County\u2019s commitment to fostering partnerships that improve healthcare outcomes. We are setting a benchmark for other counties to follow,\u201d added Dr. Kiprotich.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
