Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor, Hon. Evans Kapkea, has urged farmers to embrace climate-smart agricultural practices to tackle the growing challenges posed by climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking during an innovations exhibition hosted by Case IH at Konyit Farm in Ngeria, Cheptiret Kipchamo Ward, Hon. Kapkea underscored the transformative potential of modern farming technologies in enhancing resilience to erratic weather patterns and improving productivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is a call to action for our farmers to adopt advanced farming techniques,\u201d Kapkea stated. \u201cLeveraging cutting-edge technology is pivotal in ensuring sustainable agricultural development and securing food production in our region.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event showcased state-of-the-art farming equipment, including tractors, seeders, and other innovative tools, highlighting their role in promoting sustainable and efficient farming practices. Farmers had the opportunity to witness live demonstrations and engage with experts, gaining insights into the integration of these technologies into their daily operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of its ongoing commitment to agricultural transformation, the County Government of Uasin Gishu is advancing its Agricultural Mechanization Services (AMS) program. The initiative offers farmers access to modern equipment at subsidized rates, ensuring they can leverage the best tools to enhance productivity and efficiency.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

This approach aligns with Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii\u2019s \u201cNguzo Kumi\u201d development agenda, which prioritizes agriculture as a cornerstone of economic growth and food security in the county.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Agriculture, Mr. Edward Sawe, echoed Kapkea\u2019s sentiments. He emphasized the critical role of integrating modern agricultural tools in overcoming the challenges posed by climate change while boosting productivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
