Uasin Gishu Governor Dr Jonathan Bii has called on partners to work with his administration in supporting and strengthening the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises(MSMEs) for the growth of the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking on Wednesday in Eldoret during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) between the County Government and Inkomoko, a business advisory firm that supports Micro and SME businesses, Governor Bii said the initiative signifies his administration’s readiness to build a foundation of strength and innovation within MSMEs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event also saw over 750 MSMEs graduate from a capacity-building program on among others, financial literacy.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The Governor also said through the department, the business advisory firm will soon be able to train and capacity-build the county youth for them to access finances, venture into businesses, grow themselves economically and create jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MoU will see a framework of cooperation between the County and Inkomoko, and have joint trade and trade-related activities to support MSMEs in achieving their goals of improving lives and livelihoods through empowerment and entrepreneurial activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inkomoko has been in operation in Kenya since 2019, serving both local and refugee entrepreneurs and supporting more than 20,000 MSMEs by providing businesses with training and consulting on growth, financial management, sales, and operations and access to below-market-rate investment funds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chief Officer for Trade CPA Victorine Kapkiai said the department has been working with MSMEs within the County by capacity building and providing access to credit facilities adding that the partnership will facilitate more credit and capacity building to traders.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Kenya-Inkomoko Director for Business Growth Services Cynthia Ndeti noted that the partnership will maximize the opportunities that the organization has in place in empowering county MSMEs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We endeavour to provide MSMEs with much-needed funds, trade Expo initiatives among others to sustainably achieve thriving business in future to shape a lasting future of the communities,”said Ndeti<\/p>\n\n\n\n
