Uasin Gishu Governor H.E Dr. Jonathan Bii Chelilim today welcomed US Ambassador to Kenya, Ms. Meg Whitman, to the County Headquarters for an instrumental meeting focused on the County\u2019s ambitious plans for economic growth. The talks centered around bolstering key sectors\u2014textiles, agriculture, and green energy\u2014as part of a broader strategy to attract international investment and drive Uasin Gishu\u2019s industrialization agenda forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, Governor Bii underscored the County\u2019s recent strides in the textile industry, which he described as a growing pillar of local economic development. He detailed initiatives already underway to enhance textile production quality and urged for more international partnerships to elevate the sector. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe see tremendous potential in Uasin Gishu\u2019s textile industry and are ready to work with global investors, particularly from the U.S, to tap into this potential. With the right partnerships, we can make Uasin Gishu a model for sustainable textile manufacturing,\u201d the Governor said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ambassador Whitman praised the County\u2019s progress and reaffirmed her commitment to supporting Uasin Gishu\u2019s growth. \u201cUasin Gishu is demonstrating remarkable vision and progress in key industries, especially in agriculture and green energy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The U.S. stands ready to support these initiatives and explore ways we can contribute to the County\u2019s vision,\u201d Whitman stated.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Agriculture was another major focus of the discussion, with Governor Bii highlighting specific crops with high economic potential\u2014avocado, potato, and pyrethrum. He shared his administration\u2019s plans to improve farming methods and increase resources for local farmers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
