Uasin Gishu Governor H.E Dr. Jonathan Bii\u2019s commitment to improving access to quality and affordable water as a cornerstone of agricultural productivity can’t be overemphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This commitment aligns with his Nguzo Kumi agenda, a key promise aimed at empowering the residents through sustainable agricultural practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Governor’s robust plan was evident this morning, when representatives from the state department of agriculture paid a courtesy call on CECM Agriculture, Mr. Edward Sawe to appraise the proposed Kaptuli irrigation scheme.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The team, which includes Eng. Janet Rotich (Agriculture) and Eng. Bob Busungu (Water), is currently conducting feasibility study on the initiative, which is projected to bring transform farming practices in Soy Sub-County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, CECM Sawe expressed gratitude for the collaboration between the National and County Governments, stressing the need to coordinate efforts to avoid duplication of agricultural projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe partnership between our County and the National Government is crucial in streamlining our initiatives in water provision and agricultural development. We are grateful for the support we receive as we work together to prevent overlapping projects that could dilute our impact,\u201d Sawe stated.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Under Dr. Governor Bii’s leadership, the drive to enhance access to water has gained momentum through the development of various dams and irrigation systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This strategy is part of a broader mission to not only boost agricultural productivity but also ensure that communities have a reliable water supply for both domestic and farming needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Agriculture Chief Officer Mr. Elphas Kesio also attended the site appraisal and highlighted the pivotal role the Kaptuli irrigation scheme will play in improving food security and the livelihoods of residents in Soy Sub-County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAccess to water is the foundation of successful agriculture, and through this project, we aim to empower our farmers to increase their output and diversify their crops, which in turn will uplift our local economy,\u201d Kesio remarked.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
