County Executive for Sports, Eng Lucy Ng’endo, on Thursday led a progress check at Chagaiya High Altitude Training Camp in Kesses Sub-County.
The County Government is fastracking the construction of the high altitude camp, in a deliberate plan to grow sports talent.
Governor Jonathan Bii bets on talent and sports development to empower the youth. Youth empowerment, pillar in the Governor’s plan, is widely touted to be a silver bullet to attainment of economic growth in Uasin Gishu.
The Chagaiya High Altitude Camp will be among the few government owned training camps in the country. The contractor is currently finishing up on setting slab for the fourth floor.
Director of Sports, Henry Mukolwe, Governor’s Legal Advisor, Ronald Keitany and county quantity surveyor, Alex Kemboi were among officers who checked on the progress of the project.
